I believe my A. Ocellaris recently spawned for the first time near a LTA which the female has recently hosted as well. The eggs were on a rock about 6 inches away from the anemone and were a silver color when I first noticed them. They hatched last night and I am hoping to make this a routine thing. My fiancee said the fish were snacking on something this morning

I will be trying the tile in about 2 weeks, getting the 10 gallon ready, and trying to start some green water. Wish me luck-

I wouldn't recommend trying to raise greenwater. It is much easier to raise the rotifers with "rotifer diet" or other algae concentrates. www.rotifer.com has great info. I would recommend getting the starter kit since it comes with a good plankton culturing book and the culturing equipment you need for rotifers. I would also recommend you get a plankton collector from www.florida-aqua-farms.com to harvest teh rotifers. I wouldn't put the rotifer water in with the fry. I have done it this way but already ordered a collector. I ordered 2 sizes of collector 53micron for rotifers and a 120 for the bbs.

You will definately want to get Joyce Wilkerson's book "Clownfishes"

Good luck.

edit: IMO the tile is not worth it for the hobbyist but probably important if you are trying to really build a hatchery.

That plankton collector looks like pantyhose for 60$'s. Thank you for the link and advice. I may end up picking up the book.

I found a pretty cool link on culturing rotifiers

I've tried cheaper versions and washed bbs right down the drain through home-made collectors. The 4" collector is plenty large enough for home use and costs $11 or $12 dollars!
