I have a 45 gal display tank and a 20 gal fuge
PH=8.2
NO2=0
NO3=6
Ammonia=0
Phos=.2
KH= 143.5
Alk=2
Salinity=1.022
Temp 78.3
Occupants include a Yellow Tang, Bi-color psudochrome, 6 green chromes, Mandarin,3 PJ Cardinals, coral banded shrimp, a bunch of hermits, three nasarius snails, 2 bumble bee snails and an emerald crab. About 50 lbs of live rock a cluster of mushrooms, star polyps and some giant polyps... oh yeah and glass rose pests.
Any way here is my question I have quite a bit of hair algae growing on my rock and substrate(shallow sand bed) Phos buster pro was suggested to bring down the PO4 level however the bottle says that you need an ALK level of 3.5m/l or 10 dkh. Wow that seems high my tank has never been that high and I thought that it would be harm-full to raise it to that level if I could. Has any one used this and what were the parameters? HELP! :confused:

I haven't tried Phos Buster Pro, however, I run my alk at 10dKH without a problem. I believe 7 - 11 dKH is acceptable.
