Hey Guys,
I'm going to start plumbing my tank. My tank came with the all-glass kit. Its a PVC pipe with a sponge and float that can slide up and down?
Will the Durso pipe be a lot quiter than this setup (any other benfits of it)?
Also my bulkheads are not threaded do I need to glue the drains?

You will have to glue the drains if they are not threaded. What I would do is glue a short piece of pvc to a male pipe thread adapter. Then you can change it out later. Durso amd stockman standpipes are quieter imo. I used the sponge thing with mine for a while then went to a stockman I think it was.

Why do the drains need to be glued?
thanks for your time..

you are talking about from your display to sump, or stand pipe? no need to glue standpipe.

i dont like the sponge. It has to be cleaned frequently. Use durso.

All Glass has a Durso overflow fit. They call it the Megaflow kit.
