Hello there,

I have a seperate loop for a chiller- water flows to the chiller by syphon and through the chiller and returns back to the tank but is lifted by an eheim 1250 to a head height of about 1.5m. Problem is is that the flow is really slow. Should I ....

1. pull the water from the tank with the pump?
2. put the pump next to the chiller and run the return from there?
3. go play golf?

The chiller is 10 feet from the tank, on 3/4 inch eheim tubing, it is a system 2000 chiller and seems to be working all the time, even when its not that hot. I think this is due to the trickle of water going through it.

Do you have the directions/specs for the chiler? Chillers have a certain GPH that needs to be matched closely to get optimum performance. I'd play around with the head loss calculator and input different pumps to get the required GPH. Maybe a mag 5 or 7. Run the chiller off an in sump pump and return to tank. ;)

I have mine inline on my return pump, mag7 with 7-8 feet head pressure.
