You can make a ghetto :bum: sump out of a rubbermaid container. Then add a few smaller containers (like plastic bathroom trashcans) with some holes in them to serve as baffles :D I have a picture of the one I made in my gallery.

Over the weekend, I upgraded to a 20 gallon long glass aquarium with plexiglass baffles siliconed in. Works out great & gives me more room then the previous sump. Good Luck!

Rubbermaid containers and simple tanks like 10g tanks make great sumps and refugiums. Let me try to find one that I made a few months ago at an COMAS meeting.

adeliel,

Click my gallery for a sketch of my sump. I'm making it out of a ten gallon, $10 aquarium from petsmart. The only change from the drawing is that I made the middle divider a bit taller to increase the water volume. I figured I should have enough room for my skimmer (CSS65), heater and return pump.

There's not much to it at all. You can always drop a plastic bin under the stand, put a pump with a filter on it, and go from there.

If you're not looking to keep anything in there (skimmer, macro, etc.) then just get a rubbermaid and throw your stuff in there. if you're just looking to increase water volume. you may have to tweak the flow, cause i've seen this cause microbubbles
