I'm getting a couple of sea hares and turbo snails soon and I don't want them to become Seio dinner. What do other people do in this situation? My Seio has already claimed the life of a turbo snail. Interestingly astreas have no difficulty moving over the intake, but turbos die from it.

Well, I layed mine down horizontally and pretty much buried the intake part of the pump. So basically only the tip of the pump is sticking out of the rock work. Theres enough space to keep the water flowing into the pump, but it seems to keep the larger snails and anemones for getting sucked in.
Worked for me for about a year now.

My turbo snails are strong enough to crawl around the intakes and not get stuck .. they keep the intakes nice and clean!
