if you un plug the unit to make a move to another house how long can the membrain stay dry befor it goes bad? its not been in use for 2 to 3 weeks now, is it to late? what steps do i need to take at this point?

Teena,
Thank you for your post. The membrane should never be stored dry. If it has, it would be recommended to replace it. Here are the following requirements to storing an RO membrane. The membrane can be stored by being saturated in the RO system for up to 30 days. If the membrane is not going to be used for more than 30 days, it can be refrigerated for preservation. To do this you would want to place the membrane in a reseal able bag with a couple of teaspoons of purified water and store in a refrigerator. Be careful not to freeze the membrane.

do you think it is to late, how can i tell? could i still put it in a bag to keep it cool?
