Has anyone out there made a canopy for a bowfront? I have a 46g bowfront, and I'm fishing for ideas on how to make a canopy for it. I'm thinking about possibly just making the hood rectangular and then cutting the lip on the inside to the shape of the bow. Anyone have any ideas?

Yep, that's what I did. I'll have to shrink some pics down and download them in my gallery. I went with a rectangular stand and hood. Just because I had a lot of extra solid cherry wood sitting around. Works nice and people love it. I still haven't made the doors for the sump area..... I keep forgetting. Let me see if I can find those pics.

I'll give you a link to my album. I put some pics in there for you to look at. The hood wasn't hard. Leave the middle of the back open for fans and wires. Put stops on the back, sides and front. Mine just slides down over the sides and can't come off. It's not perfect, but only cost me $5 bucks to make. Can't complain. Good luck.

Looks good. I went with a rectangle hood because I was working with 3/4 solid cherry.
