View Full Version : 36" Fixture

Hello,

I have the 36" fixture available with 5 - 39 watt bulbs. I was wondering if this fixture would be okay to use on a 48" long tank? I'm keeping LPS mostly. If I kept the fixture in the center, do you think I can still keep any corals underneath the 6" inches on both sides where there is no light?

Thanks!

Frontosas,

It is hard to say. Would you know the actually size of the tank you are thinking of placing the 36" fixture on? If the fixture was raised a little off the tank you might be able to keep some low light corals at the ends.

The tank is a standard 75 gallon.

Frontosas,

The 48" fixture directly on top of the tank would be better, but if you already have the fixture and want to use it then give it a try. As I said before some low light corals might work as there will be light reaching the ends deeper down in the tank.

Thank you,
