Are two 175 Watt Halid lights enough light for a 75 gallon tank to have coral?

My understanding is for a reef tank you need 6-8 watts per gallon. You have between 4.5 and 5 watts/gl. Making it difficult to think about even low light stuff.

I ran 2X175 (10K and 10K+ Bluelines) MH halide on my 75 and it worked great... I did supplement the system with two 48" T5 TruActinics further down the road for the "twilight" effect before and after lights come on and go off.
This tank had a number of SPS corals (mid tank and up) that did great. "Stout" here at RC now has that tank and so you might look him up for an opinion :)
