I must have been crazy the true perc will not host my seabe but it hosts corals and I keep moving the corals in hopes it will find the seabe is there a way to get it to host?

Percula don't host in Sebae. They simply aren't interested in that type of anemone.

BTA's are about the only semi-easy to care for anemone that they'll host in. You could try a carpet if you can keep it healthy. Other than those 2, Ritteri and Saddle are the only other sure fire hosts for true percs, but both are very difficult to keep alive.

Swap your perc out for a pair of Tomato or Skunks and they'll love it. Or... trade the sebae back for a BTA.

I don't know where you heard that from but its absolutely false. clownfish will adopt pretty much any anemone as a host if they're interested. sure pairing a specific clown and its natural host anemone will give you better results but the clownfish will use whatever it wants whether it be corals, anemones, powerheads or even a rock.

markvanderwoude - give your clownfish some time, it can take a while for them to decide to move in

Agreed.
Additionally, "Sebae" anemone doesn't really tell us what kind of anemone you have.
Why not simply let the perc host in a coral?

Found a couple of more pics while plundering through my hard drive.

Yep, I have two pairs that ignore the anemones in their tanks and have adopted their clay pots as their hosts.

I currently have a pair of percs that host a flowerpot and a toadstool. Go figure.

Poor guy - guess we got a little off-topic on this one. If you absolutely, positively, indisputably want it to host only in the sebae, and the clowns are demonstrating a preference for something else, you will probably have to remove everything else from the tank so that they only have the option of adopting the sebae. ::::Shrug:::: I prefer to let them make their own choices (after all, we kind of make all their other "choices" on their behalf). On the other hand, they may just reject the anemone completely and start sleeping under the return nozzle (had a pair that did that for a while too). Good luck!

Hey, I didn't offer for your pics, his perc in his sebae. :P

You just got lucky. In my experience if percula choose corals/anything else over an anemone they don't instinctively host in, it probably never will. I have had several pairs of percs choose everything from anthelia to zoanthids over non-BTA anemones, which included Sebae, LTA, and condy anemone.

Give em a clay pot and they'll be happier about that than the Sebae....

Well I have a green bta and a sebae they are on different sides of the tank and it does look like he will host anything other than the sebae the first host was a baseball size flower pot coral that I have had for about a year now I moved it to the other side of the tank and now he has hosted a polyp I can't win Is there a method to getting a true perc. to host an sebae like a net over the anemone and the clown help help help

A clownfish will host what he wants, when he wants, and only on his own terms.
There is pretty much nothing you can do to convince them otherwise.
Clownfish will generally wait until you have asked nicely, asked meanly, ridiculed them, considered getting rid of them, threatened them, and then finally given up on them to host in any anemone.
I've got a 16"LTA and an RBTA and my clowns won't host in either one of them. It's been months and I've just decided that I'm going to enjoy my nems and when my FOWLR is set up, the clowns go into the FOWLR and I'll get some other clowns for the 120 Reef.
