Dear reef chemist experts,

I need help on my 19 Gal Reef tank.

Testing Data:

pH: 7.83
Calcium: 320 mg/L
KH: 13dKH
Ammonia: 0 mg/L
Nitrite: 0 mg/L

I have upset my pH-Ca-KH balance. My KH has over increase? What should I do to restore my pH?

I just put a double dose of liquid Ca into the system. Hope it balance KH

All additives I use aquapharm.

Thanks

Yes you should work on getting that calcium up to about 420 or so.

As far as pH it is likely a CO2 issue. Read this article and perform the outside aeration test to confirm.

kalkwasser is all you need along with a reliable doser

I will take a lot of the liquid calcium to boost the calcium. Forget a double dose. Use the calculator to determine an exact dose.

Limewater (kalkwasser) and fresher indoor air are the best ways to raise pH (never buffers). The article above has more details.
