bulkhead gasket

Against better judgement I placed small amount of silicone lubricant on bulkhead gasket. I tightened the nut pretty good, but bulkhead still rotates (because of grease). Should I remove and clean gasket or this would be ok?

It should be ok, but unless its a bulkhead near the very top of your waterline so it could be fixed without dumping the tank........i would redo it and clean it now.

Thankfully the tank is empty, so I can fix it without floodding :)

I would clean it off....so I could make sure it snugged down
