I just recently got into this hobby and I cant stop reading posts and learning new stuff all of this is very addicting and very exciting! anyhows... heres some shots of my cube, everything is stock so far accept I pulled out the charcoal and ceramic rings. Im planning to upgrade the pump and lighting soon so I can have some sps and a clam. let me know what you guys think, this is my first time doing anything saltwater, but so far its been going great! comments and flames appreciated, and yes I am aware the gargonian is not doing too well this is how I got him, he is getting better though.

yeah, Unless everything came from an established tank, how did you get all your fish and corals the first week, and their still alive. Maybe like the first week after the cycle? I probaly still would have waited, my tank is a 1 yr old and Im still fishless. BTW, I have a porcelain crab that looks just like yours, mine is small though at like a 1/2 inch, how big is yours, I hope mine gets bigger. After a few weeks in the tank he figured out about my frogspawn and now hangs out beneath it, I geuss he thinks it is a anenome or something, as mine and yours are Porcelain Anenome crabs, and not just Porcelain crabs.

as far as getting fish and coral the first week I didnt get all of them the first week only like 3 or 4, I purchased the tank used; the guy gave me the tank with the live sand and also gave me a ton of live rock from another tank he had in a different bucket. He also threw in the clown, mushrooms, and xenia from one of his other tanks the next day after I aquascaped and everything settled. The tank didnt really cycle since everything was already established. I checked all the parameters and all was in order. I kept doing a gallon water change every other day for the first week just to make sure, and then on the 3rd week I found a local guy that was parting out his reef due to a move and I bought about 10 frags and corals off him and have slowly been adding small things as I can, like a peppermint (killed 2 aptasias) some bumble bee snails, margaritas, etc etc...

I dont think porcelain crabs get big at all, I think half an inch to an inch is about max, mine is about 3/4 of an inch, I purchased him locally from a guy he had him for about a year and a half. They are absolutly the coolest crab I have ever seen with those crazy nets on ther arms its nuts. Mine used to hang out right under the open brain coral but not lately.

they look pretty cool, but I guess they are there primarily for decoration, they dont seem to be eating anything....

Very nice looking tank you have going there. I really like the candy cane you have and I'm a sucker for the way frogspawn looks as well. I'm hoping to get my hands on some myself. Everything looks great...keep up the good work.

Yeah, I have a bumble bee snail and I saw it for the first two weeks and now it has been MIA for about 3 weeks. I don't really think they clean all that much but might be good at stirring the bed a bit.
