Currently only filled with live rock and a skimmer and cycled, I am now looking towards the fish. Just wandering what fish and how many would be suitable for a 23 gallon?

Many thanks,

James

how many depends on what type you get. But i'd say that you could do 3 or 4 smaller fish.

But go to liveaquaria.com and look at their nano fish selection. All those are good for a nano tank like yours. Pick which ones you like then go from there.

hope this helps, and welcome to reefcentral! ;)

I have in my 24 gallon:

1 Clarki Clownfish (Kind of a jerk, I'd probably not get him if I could go back and do it again, maybe another type of clown is more peaceful).

1 Blue Bar PseudoChromis (Awesome, likes hanging out in the rocks, very peaceful for a Dottyback).

1 Assesor (You could also get a Royal Gramma if you wanted, just as colorful).

1 Yellow Watchman Goby (You could get another burrowing sand sifter, like the yasha haze)

Another fish is the firefish or purple firefish. If you substituted that for a clown you would have a very colorful and peaceful tank.
Or a cardinalfish, some of those are very cool.

Smaller Gobies are harder to keep since they have picky diets (The Court Jester Goby & Mandarin are the 2 worst to keep).

Just do as much reserch as you can.

www.marinecenter.com is another good place to learn about fish.

Just don't add them all at once :)

ya all that is good except for that site reference...i dont know what all they tell you to do totake care of fish...but any place that says a blue tang can be kept in a 20g minimum is bull crap

but you could also do like a perc/ocelaris (false perc) clown pair. Dont get the maroon clowns tho...too big and they're mean anyways.

another one just to prove my point...http://www.marinecenter.com/fish/triggers/clowntrigger/

they are good for looking to see what type of fish you like tho...srry if thats what you meant. I was under the impression that you meant they're very informative and true...they just want to sell.
