anybody know what this "thing" is?

It is growing on the bottom of a piece of a piece of lace rock in a place in my tank that doesnt have as much light or current. It looks like really fine pasta in little back and forth pattern that weaves itself into a larger swirl. It has a few loose ends that wave in the current but I dont know if that is by design or if a crab or something ripped some loose...Here are the best pics I could get. Anyone have any clues? Why does this stuff give me the willies??!!?!

For a sense of scale each of the little back and forth sections you can see in the top picture are no more than a cm in length...

ok so it is snail eggs after looking on the internet for pics of snail eggs I found some that look just like these. It seems they are the handy work of my cerith snails.. Anyone know how long the gestation ( is that the correct term?) is for the eggs?
