Hey... I was visiting a local pecto yesterday and stumbled apon a tiny bursa trigger. Normally I dont buy from those horrible stores but I felt bad for the little guy and new he wasnt going to survive there. Anyway I brought him home and put him in my 20g quarantine. I waited a couple hours and offered him some frozen shrimp, krill, and brine shrimp. He voraciously attacked the shrimp for a minute then he just sort of picked at everything else but didnt seem to eat anything. I went to feed him again this morning and he wasnt interested in anything. All he is doing now is hovering at the surface near the back of the tank and not really responding to my prescence at all. I took a closer look and hes got what maybe could be an infection below his left eye. It almost looks like a bruise and there is what looks like a bloodshot vein in the middle. Please if you have any experience with tiny triggers.. I mean hes tiny.. hes no more that 1.5 inches.. please let me know any tips you have with acclimation. I know they can be a pain when they are this small.

I was just watching him again and hes got a few other areas that look like that too, and hes inflamed. He Def needs formulin or copper.. is there any chance of saving him?

As you describe it has an infection most likely bacterial and internal; copper is an irritant and toxic; treating it will stress the fish, do absolutley no good and eventually kill your fish.

Try Pimafix or Paraguard and monitor your water quality.

Agreed. Clear clean water at this point. IF anything, meth blue for increased O2...

Hyposalinity would reduce the osmotic process of the fish helping him to recover faster.

Hypo won't cure a bacterial infection and by the time you lower the salinity (over a few days) the specimen will probably have died.

It was too late.. he was dead by 6:00.. Ive never seen anything like that. Ive never bought a fish and had it eating 2 hours after I acclimated him and then had it drop dead the next day. I think he had brooklynella. But whatever it was he was a mess. I want to crucify petco for even having saltwater fish.

you are not alone in that sentiment. :(
