Any Ideas.
I have this light fixture hooked up to a GFI plug and it just keeps blow the plug. I just had 2 20 amp fuses run to the tank for the lights and 2 pumps. If I plug nothing in but the light, it blows. If I plug it in to a regular socket in the house, no problems.
Dont know
I have my 72" light also hooked up to a GFI, but with no problems. You have 546 watts total (14 bulbs at 39W each) and a 120 volts. The total amperage is thus 4.55. The only suggestion I have is to try another GFI.

Thanks.
There was actually a short that was causing the GFI to trip.

Dave,
If it's only tripping on the GFI, then there is no short. Your GFI might be too sensitive to the leakage current (all ballasts have it). GE makes some good ones or just use the fixture on a non-GFI plug.

Any other ideas besides switching out the GFI or running on a non-GFI. I don't think it's safe running it on a non-GFI.
I have a 48" T-5 and have the same problem.
