i got him back in may and has been eating fine (once or twice a week). i usually give him 1 silverside at a time. it hasn't eaten for over a week. it just comes out, bites and releases. i'm going away for a few days starting tomorrow, so hopefully it won't try to eat any other fish. it's mouth is too small anyway.
any suggestions, besides it being on a fast.

I would definitely try more of a variety of foods, eels need more than just silversides. i would try shrimps (uncooked), marine fish ( like from the supermarket and make sure they are marine), some live SW ( for ex. damsels) feeders (if it is big enough), freeze dried krill stuff like that. silversides are surface eaters and don't eat a lot of algae so the are high in fatty acids that FW feeder fish have. good luck.
