New Live Rock

Quick ?...my husband went to a fish store that I'm not familiar with and purchased live figi rock without asking if it has been cured yet. My question is that if it is uncured what kind of problems will it cause his already established tank? If I'm correct, won't it re-cycle the tank?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How big is your tank? How much lr?

55 gal and 9lbs of live rock to be added.

There will be some die off on the uncured rock for sure. You probably want to cure it before you put it in the tank or you'll have an ammonia spike. Or, at least give the store a call and confirm your purchace.

I have a 45 gallon with 50 lbs of LR. I just added 12 lbs 2 days ago. LR that was added was dry, out of water for about 1-2 hrs.

I wouldn't worry about it. I once added 30 lbs at one time when the tank had about 15 lbs.

I'd scrub it good and add it. JMO
