View Full Version : Iwasaki or XM 15k halide?

I need to replace my halides and I have a dual SE 175w halide magnetic ballast. Should I go with the Iwasaki or the XM? The Iwasaki is $20 more. Anyone have PAR readins on either of these? Anyone recommend another bulb?


Pics would be great if anyone has them.

The Iwasaki 15K is about the brightest 175w bulb out there. The Xm15K is about the dimmest.

I like XM bulbs in general, but the 15k is junk.

On Sanjay's site, on Magnetic (M57) ballasts

Iwasaki: PPFD:71
XM:PPFD:39.


So its roughtly twice as much par.
