My husband and I are stocking our first tank. Its a 215g Oceanic with 40g refugium. We've been working with one LFS to get it started and stocked.

I saw a long tentacle plate coral at the LFS that I really liked. It was about 4" in diameter. The LFS guy said that that one was taken but it was to be traded for one that outgrew his customer's 75g tank. He said he would work a really good deal for us to get it (probably because most of his customers have tanks less than 100g and we're the only customers still initially stocking a big tank.) He says its probably over a foot in diameter.

We have plenty of room for it but my question is, how long before it outgrows our tank and can it be split (fragged)?

Thanks for your time,

Kim

it really depends on how much space you have on the floor of your tank. Also do you have a calcium reactor or are you dosing calcium? that will cause it to grow faster. Also if you aren't i'd be concerned about your giant squamosa clam.

i'm not too sure about the fragging part i dont think it should be fragged though.

Right now, since we don't have a whole lot of corals, I'm dosing calcium as needed. I've been dosing about once a week or so to keep it between 450 and 500. I'm also feeding DT's every other day.
