Hello, Filter Guys,
I called a month or so back asking about getting rid of the crappy, expensive-to-replace, bad-taste-water-producing filter for my refrigerator so that I could use my RODI system for feeding the ice maker, etc. After doing a little searching, I found a filter bypass made by sears that works great in my fridge. On to the next step...

I believe I need the tank and some fittings to connect my RO system to my fridge. I'm not sure what all to get. I have an auto shut off and a bypass set up on my system, so I need to get whatever goes between that and the fridge.

Also, I believe I need to replace the media in my chloramine cartridges. I have two. How do you know when these are exhausted?

Thanks a bunch!

Melissa

Do you purchase a drinking water setup ( meaning it has the pressurized tank ) with your RO unit ?

If not, you may have trouble with using it for your ice cubes. Because without the pressurized tank, it has to produce the water as you use it which can be slow. I tried it for a while before breaking down and buying the drinking water pressurized tank, sometimes the icecubes were only partiall full and the mechanism that dumps the icecubes seems to stick more frequently I'm guess from the lower flow.

If you are also trying to feed a water dispenser in addition to the ice cubes you for sure need the pressurized tank.
