I just got my 30 lbs of LR in from Liveaquaria.. I'm kind of disapointed, because its not very LIVE what so ever.. i dont see any growth on it, never the less should I take my new LR and put it in another small tank with no lights and just two large air stones? and if so how long should I?

Yes, you need to cure your LR. Tub, saltwater, powerhead(s), heater. And start checking ammonia/nitrite/nitrate levels. In a few days (or immediately) you'll see ammonia starting to rise. This means that cycle had started. Depending on how "clean" your rock is (cured vs uncured), it could take 4-8 weeks for ammonia and nitrite to zero out. When this happens - safe to put rocks in tank.

If the rock is cured already you will have a much shorter cycle. I recently had uncured live rock that was full of life only take 2 week to cycle and this was with a good amount of die-off. Just monitor it by testing. Also I'd suggest using a power head and a heater rather than airstones.
