Not a problem thread, just an observation. I've really let my tank go. :( My alk/calc are very low, coupled with cyano, my other LPS (hammer, frogspawn, torch, acans) are in serious trouble. Losing heads all the time it seems. They're not happy at all and I'm working to correct that with water changes.

But here's the thing. My blastos are absolutely thriving! They've quadroupled in size in 19 months (started with 6 polyps, now there are too many to count) with no target feeding.

Just thought I'd let others know. I think there is still the opinion that blastos can just up and die and this may shed some light.

heh, no on the acans.

I just cleaned all the hair algae off of my few fist sized ones. They're hurting with nothing but a pea sized polyp surrounded by nothing but skeleton.

But my main reason for the thread is the demise of my other LPS (due to my negligence) and just how good the blasto is doing. no signs of distress whatsoever.

It seemed that when I was on top of things the other LPS were doing great and the blasto has such a slow growth rate. Now that the tank is "dirty" they are going nuts with growth.
