View Full Version : Attaching Frogspawn?

I just got a branching frogspawn today as a "beginner safe" coral to kind of test the waters and such. I've moved my power heads around and now I think I got him where I like him. He gets hit a little with some stream from my flo deflector, but overall he looks to be doing fine. Stayed open (though not to open) after I moved it.

Currently he is just rubber banded on to my rocks and Im not sure how to attach him. Do most just glue the skeleton onto the rock? Would I better off fragging it into 4 different pieces instead of a linked branch?

I'll probably stick to the rubber band for the next several days so I can find a nice place for him where he opens up pretty good.

My tank is a 36g that is 20" high. My rockwork only extends to about half way up the tank and the frogspawn is in the middle on the tallest piece. Running 130w PC.

If all goes well I'm hoping to get a small piece of Xenia to mess around with too. Thinking about getting those Aqua Mags and attaching the xenia to the glass though. anyone tried this? Does it help with them spreading?

As for the xenia I have about 5 stalks that walked up the glass. Simply putting them to where there touching or can touch the glass. Any path they can follow to higher light there gonna take it. Heres mine:

Cool, thanks a ton for the reply and link. I got this 2 part epoxy (Marineland's HoldFast) from the LFS but it doesn't say if it can be used under water. Says it is fish/reef safe though so I will give it a shot. If not, I will go out and buy the epoxy from HD.
