i dont want to break the bank on atintics for 150 gallon what would you think i need? 4 36 inch power compacts? t5s? cost? between the too? thanks andrew
Although I haven't seen the new T-5 actinics, the VHO is still hard to beat in my mind. The PC don't come close, IMO. The new T-5s may beat the VHO though.

To get the good T5s will cost you quite a bit. I'll put in second vote for the VHOs, you can get 6ft bulbs and they are quite bright. I have two 6ft Actinics with an Icecap 430 ballast staggered over my 8 foot tank and love them.
Also, the Icecap ballasts are nice because they don't get hot and they last Forever. Mine is 6 years old, never had a hint of a problem.

I bought 3 of the 5 foot t5's from reefgeek, I centered one in the back and overlapped the other two in the front...it was $330 I think w/ the icecap ballast and icecap individual reflectors
