Rocks being in the center built up into a mountain leaving a little swim space around the edges?

Rocks pushed to one half of the tank leaving swim space on the other half?

Rocks spread out evenly through the whole tank?

Want to rearrange my rock and I don't know which one, thanks!

If you want to keep fish, a two mountain with a break in the middle helps to break that territorial streak in many of out finned friends. If you are reefing, I like the piled against the back look. But really, it's all up to you to decide. Post pictures of what you have and we can give you our opinions.

I'd personally leave an opening in the center or somewhere. Make a special cave or something. I've never been a fan of the stonehenge look where rocks are leaning on others and you can see right through all of them.

If it was me, I'd pile some on the left and right off of the glass and at least 4 to 5 inches off the front glass. Don't put the rock too high as corals will grow out of the water. I try to stay about 8 to 10 inches from the water surface.

Your current one looks fine and is a lot like mine. The only problem I have with that way is I don't know how well it will work in the long run.

ignore the low water level and salt creep. old pic back when I drained a lot of water when playing with the tank

Do people suggest going up more so you have some mounting place for coral closer to the light? Or is half way up going to end up being enough?

For me, I may take the piece all the way on the right and glue it to my rock work on the top. This should give me another ledge to work with. But I'm gonna do that later on once I get a better grasp on corals and such. I plan to do one of those "Pieces of the Reef" from Dr.Mac's place so I may just glue that piece of rock on the top.

But yours looks great and I'd hold off changing it until you know you will run into problems for light. I personally don't like the mountain of rock in the middle and much prefer the small caves and crevices spread out.

The last picture is one that works well. He could even leave an empty spot in the picture near the middle. You can make corals branch from both sides into that center area and give it a really nice apperance.
