frogspawn galore

I just bought a frogspawn coral yesterday. It is my first. One of my fellow reefers has had it for almost 4 years. When he bought it, it had 2 heads, when I bought it yesterday (for the price he paid with 2 heads, $75) it has 20 plus heads branched out in the form of a giant ball. The coral had to be broken apart to fit in my 29 gal. tank. Man it is beautiful but I am going to have frag it and sell some heads to accomidate incoming coral.

Its ashame your going to chop up that show piece just because it doesnt fit... why dont you try selling it to someone that can fit the thing in their tank and with that money buy 4-5 head corals

The reason the man sold it to me was because he had a rise in temperature and it killed off a few heads making the showpiece not so showy any more. I broke it up into rather nice 5-7 heads peices and they look awesome. Much better than the peice as a whole.

I hear ya about getting a new frogspawn. I just got a 6" piece that RevHtree was selling on here and it has about 6-10 heads on it and is incredible when it's fully expanded. I couldn't imagine how large 20 heads would be but hopefully someday mine will be that large.

They are simply amazing corals to me :)

I will try to post soem pics tonight that it is adjusted and fully opened in my reef. All 24 heads!
