Alright here is my problem...

My tank has been set up and cycled for about 2 months I got all my live sand and live rock from a friends exsisting tank. Cheap... But he did not have an algea issue.

I Have hair algea all over the place and brown stuff covering the sand

ammonia 0
nirtites 0
niritates 10 (getting ready for a water change)

temp 80
salinty 1.023

I use Ro/di water

Livestock includes: 12 crabs 7 snails, a lawnmower blenny, 2 false perc clowns, a CBS, 2 cleaner clams a feather duster cluster (i think) and about 8 small red zoo corals ( they survived the trip home the week in a rubbermaid with no light and a small cycle)

what i want is how do you get the algea gone...???
what is causing it???

thanks for any info you can give me hopefully i gave you the info ytou need to help me

My Kole Tang keeps everything under control . These fish will eat their weight in algea.

As a first stab, it sounds like you don't have an effective protein skimmer on the tank yet. The problems you're having will in all likelihood pass on their own, though if you have enough live rock and a good quality protein skimmer.
