I'm looking for a combination of quality and price fro about 150lbs of live rock.

It doesn't have to be the very very best, just good quality at a good price.

Any suggetstions?

I'm going to tag along on this thread... How about Online Vendors in Canada? (Neither TBS, LiveAquaria, nor Premium Aquatics ship to Canada) :(

The premium stuff at the LFSs looks like what the vendors above sell for base rock!

:)

Thanks for the feedback! I have a 140g and I'll start the cycle next week. Maybe I'll post with who I buy from.

Just as a note we do ship liverock to Canada. This is something we have been doing for about the last 9 months, and so far so good, no problems to speak of!

Thanks,
Jeremy

WooHoO! Thanks for lurking, btw, it boosts confidence in an online seller that is willing to take an interest and help out in the "community" like that. I have never ordered from you before, but that simple fact alone bolsters my confidence in your company!

PA is hands down the best online vendor out there. Check out their sponsor forum. Always heaps of praise.

All of them, except TBS ship their live rock wet, but not in water, so there is lots of die-off, yes.

TBS ships their rock in water, and so there is little die off, and tons of life on/in it, far more than other sources.

Also, consider wild versus aquacultured. Aquacultured is the more moral thing to do and in the long run will help keep this hobby alive and well, as well as the wild reefs.

I just got 80# of rock and it is excellent! Better than LFS (which has a good selection itself) less the Aptasia!
