I have heard from many people that I won't be able to keep a blue tang in a 55 gallon tank. Should I trade it in? And if so, what should I get instead? Can I keep a coral beauty and/or a flame angel? All that is in there now is the Tang and a goby (for fish). There are 3 cleaner shrimp, various anenome, polyps, and corals. Oh and an orange sponge and orange tree that are both giving me problems anyway.

I couldn't do it, I upgraded to a 100 gallon tank just to be able to keep a tang.

everbody is going to give their opinon.
i just purchased two baby hippos from my lfs
going to raise them.
in my area we have two reef clubs. and fish from other peoples tanks rarely last a day their is usually people waiting in line to purchase livestock from other reefers.
i would raise it until it reaches 3-4 inches and get another small one if you are just stuck on that fish. if not then either the flame or coral would be a great size for that tank.
just my .02 cents

A Blue Tang? Could be a Hippo, Powder Blue, Atlantic Blue....but I wouldn't keep any of the above in a 55....
Dwarf Angels are fine for that size tank.
