coralife super skimmer questions

hi i have a css 65g model. i am gonna do the return mod on it because the flexibable pipe it has gurgles. also i want to know if i can switch the pump to a maxi-jet 1200 and if i did would the skimmer still work? because with the way the stock pump can only sit sofar under water i have to put topoff 2 times a day now when i use to only topoff every 3-4 days. now it doesnt even loose 1/5" and i have to add water or the water level in the skimmer drops. i have to buffer ph etc more now to because im adding water before it really needs it. can someone please tell me if the maxi-jet 1200 would work.

I am using the same skimmer as it came without the mods. And it works just fine. Never had the micro bubbles or the gurgles. Good luck with your mods and keep us posted.

gurgles will go away, it will quiet down some
