dont know offhand, but whats the gph rating on those 2? I think the maxijet is like 175 or something? But i dont really see how you could fit a fuge and carbon in the hob..you'd have to run 2 seperate hob's imo. They're not that much anyways i dont think (the ac's). But you want the most surface area possible for your pods to grow in the sand, and carbon will cut that down quite a bit if you put it in there. Also, are you referring to just a bag of carbon, or the actual carbon pad things (where its a foamy/cotton/floss or whatever pad with carbon insided)? Because the pads would catch a lot of pods too which would kinda defeat the purpose of your fuge...the bag of carbon would be better, but still..its taking away sand space.

i have a ac 110 that i modded into a fuge and run carbon before my bafle (if you modded the ac 70 hopefuly you know what bafle im talking about) and if works out great. the carbon is before the fuge so pods don't get filtered out. Also the fuge works great i've had 0 nitrates since the tank cycled but i do have a low fish load at the moment.
and i think that should be a good starting point with the flow. if you need more you could always add another ph later

oh so you actually put a baffle in it? i dont have an ac fuge, but i had something very similar in size, and i just put the sand in the bottom of it and didnt have room for carbon...do you get how i did it? kinda hard to explain...
