how many use aquaruim covers (lids) to keep the salt or water off the lights in the canopy? to use them a good or bad idea?

all of mine are off that is why all the lights have the glass cover on them

mine is a t5 retro. do i need to use the covers?

not really its the end caps that need to be waterproof
