I havn't seen these guys till recently and the only time I see them is at the end of my photo period right before or right after the lights go out. I saw one at first and now I see three on my glass. pics are probably fuzzy so forgive me. I've heard of parasites that look like these but my snails seem to be clean. I did recieve a snail that kind of looks like these from a fellow reefer. It had a tube out the front and liked to bury itself in the sand so maybe it reproduced without me knowing?

I think you might have this guy
Cerith snail. These are great algae eaters and can be found in many places in the tank: on the rockwork, crossing the sand and cleaning the glass.
It is Reef-safe.

Here is an excellent site that will help you ID all sorts of things:

Thanks melev for an awesome site!

looks like a pyramid snail to me. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=489644&highlight=Pyramid+snail

there is several kinds of pyramid snails, clam attackers, snail attackers, and some claim ones that will attack both.

however it could be a rissoid snail. one of the easiest ways to tell is to see if you can see an operculum (the flap that covers the snail when its in its shell) if there isnt one its not a rissoid. heres some info on telling them apart.

I can't really get a clearer pictuer because these things are tiny like a single piece of crushed coral tiny my camera wont focus on it at all.

Also I don't have clams I have 2 fish some snails and some hermits is all. I did notice some white stuff stuck the the back of the glass a while back like a snail egg trail but it was one line that wasn't the width of a dime though.
