Does coiling the extra pH probe wire reduce the accuracy of readings? Seems that all pH probes come with 10' of lead but I only really need about 3'.

I'm working on relocating my controllers to get them away from my lighting systems' wiring to try and get more stable/accurate readings.

Coiling unused cabling is a good idea as it will minimize the chances of electrical interference.

Thanks Curt,
That's what I suspected; shortening the antennae so to speak.

Just was not sure if creating a coil would create some sort of inductance.

I coiled the lead on my probe and relocated away from the ballasts/lighting wires and the readings are a LOT more stable.

Inductance is not something you have to worry about as the signals are basically DC.

Curt,
I am deviating from the thread a second...

I have ordered an ACIII, 2 DC8 modules and 1 DC4HD.
I plan on using one of the channel 8's for dimming/moonphase simulation.

Does it make any difference in what order the modules are hooked up from the ACIII?

I'd planned on going ACIII --> DC8 --> DC8 --> DC4HD...in which case, the dimmer will not be the last channel in the circuit(s).

Any thoughts?

No, the order does not matter; just make the dip switch address settings all unique.
