Hey Guys,

I am in the process of designing a sump around a NW110 skimmer.

How high should I make the baffles in order to facilitate the idea water level for optimum water depth for this skimmer?

Thanks,
Greg

Im told here 8-10"; octopus skimmer sais 6-8".

personally Id make the baffles astleast 6-8" and then you can always put the skimmer on a stand to raise it up. thats what I did.

Thanks,

Areze.

I think I am going to go with 10"

Do you have experience with the NW110?

nope I have the NW150, which was specificly 8" from octopus and 10" from the guys here. I just rounded down for the range because the 110 is a bit shorter I think.

in my case Im at 10"; but it seems too little to be honest. well, the output tube is a good 6" out of the water;and theskimmer water level 2" above that.

but I guess if it were deeper it would suck less air in. all a balance between pressure on the air tube and pressure against the pump I suppose.

I have an NW150 and I keep my sump level at 9"

I have a 110 at about 10 inches. I changed out the pump for the gen-x 1500 nw pump. Better air flow, more skim.

DeliBoy,

How did the fit go with the gen-x 1500?
So, in the Army eh? I was at Speicher for OIF III.

Thanks,

G
