I really need to finish one before I start another. Now I got three tanks in my bedroom. My vivarium, soon to be full reef once lights and rock are here and cycled, and now I got a 12 gallon Eclipse from the flea market. So, when I got home and very eager to set this one up I put water in and the dead sand (Hey, I'm only 15 here). One thing I forgot most important. Forgot the salt. Good thing this dead sand and nothing in it. So, I'll be getting salt soon. Temperature is perfect, but since this supposed to be a freshwater aquarium it only has a 12 watt single bulb. My main question is what should I put in the tank? Once all corrections are made of course! I don't want a reef, maybe a FOWLR or some non-photosythetic animals. Any ideas for an interesting tank? Maybe a seahorse with gorgonians (spelling?). Don't know anything about gorgonians though. Please and thank you.

dont worry about dead sand. The best kind of sand is the dry stuff so called "DEAD" sand. That LS they sell in the LFS in bags with water in it is pure crap as any beneficial baccteria that was in it when it was packaged died long ago since the average LFS shelf is around 50 degrees. better off to go with dry aragonite sand and then seed it with a cup of LS from someone elses established tank.

Bumpyness and thanks, I was wondering about that stuff in petco. Thats one store who price their stuff way to high for something crappy.
