AquaC Remora Pre-skimmer For Maxi-Jet 1200...is it any good?

I have the AquaC Remora HOB skimmer and was wondering if I should get this:

It looks pretty big but does it work well?

There are complaints in this forum about how to hang the pre-skimmer box securely. I believe that the two screws are used to secure the box on the pump but that would mar the pump.

I was able to wedge the box in my sump between the tank wall and a baffle. Others have put suction cups on the box.

I have not seen a noticeable improvement in skimmer performance but I haven't taken careful measurements of skimmate with and without the box.

If you want the box to hide your pump in a display tank, I would make sure that the box hangs straight.
