Hey folks..simply wanted to show off my first time plumbing for my sons sps tank i am building for him. Please give me your opinion on how it looks and effectiveness if any.

1st pic shows my return plumbing using a mag 3.. I used 3/4" pvc throughout the return and utilized a union valve to make it easy when items have to be removed for whatever reason or maintainence has to be done to pump.

2nd pic shows overhead of tank to cover to areas in the tank and I will have a maxi jet in there to get most dead spots in tank once water is in with rocks.

3rd is aqualight pro over tank with plumbing.. no shading of any light will come about from this setup.

looks good so far. how are you going to plumb the drain?

looks good. only thing i see wrong is that the mag 3 with that much pipe and elbows might not give you that great of flow.

aggie I considered that so since it was brought up is there a possibility that a mag 5 would be sufficient but not have a microbubble problem?

In regards to the drain I have that internal overflow built and a durso pipe i built not in the pic which will go right back to my sump/fuge so I know there won't be a shortage of water...only about 18" from both the dt and the sump/fuge.

This is something of a project and maybe I went a little overkill but it's clean to my eyes. I plan to keep sps and will also put a autotop off in place to keep water level stabel and get no fluctuations in salinity or skimmer performance.

I have a mag5 on the way currently and can use the mag3 here for a skimmer in my 90..

Let me know what ya think...mag5 better for flow but will I possibly have a micro bubble issue?

TIA.,

Nick
