I just recenty purchased 3 green chromises and when I added them to my tank my clowns immediately started to attack them incessantly. I know that the clowns can be territorial but I never heard them having any problems with damsels. My clowns were raised with a blue devil damsel and all was fine, so I figured that since the green chromises are peaceful in nature unlike most damsels that they would be happy. Has anyone else had a problem like this?

I had to move the clowns to a different tank for the time being (as they were the easiest to catch) so that they didn't kill the chromis. The clowns would bit and hold the chromis and carry them! Has anyone else had this problem?

On a better note, just got a 4-5" lawnmower for $10 at a LFS and he's doing great, woohoo!

Percula, both are 1-2". I thought it might be for space but I had a lot more fish in there before hand. I used to have the two Percs, a valentini puffer, GSP, Blue Devil and 2 yellow tails in there before I decided to take stock out. All that's in there now is the Chromis and GSP (Green spotted puffer). And no fish is over 2", well besides the Lawnmower but I just added him. I put the clowns in my 10gal for now.

Kind of afraid to reintoduce the clowns. If need be I may take the chromis back to the LFS :(

my advice would be to let your chromis aclimate to they're new home. once they are settled try re-introducing your percs, perhaps by moving some of the rock work around abit so that the percs would have to adapt again to the aquarium before hand.
this way your clowns territorial problems might be disappated abit.

clowns are damsels. there will be some fireworks, but an heirarchy should eventually be established.

And a 20 gal seems a bit small for two perculas and three chromis...

yea i know they are both anemone fish but there is no anemone for them to fight over. Fig itd be best to wait on one until i got a bigger tank in the spring (this tank is in my dorm, thus why so small).

anyway, I just reintroduced them a few hours ago and all is well so far. They were all swimming together not long ago. I just hope it lasts.
