I have and hope to continue to have this nice blasto wellsi colony. The largest head is starting to recede from it's skeleton. All water parameters are a-okay. It is in an area of bright compact fluorescent light - maybe eight inches from the light source. Can this be the problem although it came from a halide tank but it was in low light? I also notice at night that amphipods are attracted to it and eating the receding areas. The afflicted head is still eating mysis with no problem and as I mentioned it is only the edge. What can I do to make sure it doesn't get worse and the tissue grows back to engulf the skeleton again? Lower light?

Thanks in advance.

the main thing that jumps out is you say "bright light/eight inches from light source" these are bad things when keeping a blasto. You want them in low light.

i keep mine in the sand at the bottom of my tank, My tank is 24 inches deep, im also using 250 watt 10k halides too, mine look great, i would try moving them down , What size tank do you have ?? what lighting set up are you using ?? Hope this helps, Good luck
