Hello, I have been in the hobby for four years and I have experience with corals of all kinds. I have kept a 12 gallon aquapod soft coral reef. I am looking to start up a metal Hailide nano and I like the looks of the 12 gallon aquapod. I would take off the glass that ti comes with and put a remora hang on skimmer on it. I will also be replacing the pump with a Maxi-Jet 900. I am planning on keeping LPS, Clams, and (after my tank is astablished) Acroporas. Does any one have any suggestions or expierince with this type of tank? Thanks

I would go with a 22g Finnex, but I am partial to glass. ;)

the Aquapod is glass.

I love my Aquapod 24 with 150w HQI......great tank and you can do a lot with it. I like the Finnex tanks as well with the clean lines.

I have an aquapod HQI, I think its a very nice tank, you dont have to take the glass top off if you dont want, to fit a remora though.

ok I know the aquapod brand is a good brand. Does anybody have a problem with film build up on the surface as the 12 gal;on with pc lighting that I have does get film build up.

mine 24 gal aquapod does get a bit of a surface film build up. I am currently running a 300 gph JBJ powerhead, and an getting ready to replace w/ something a little more powerful to try to get more circulation through the back chambers. hopefully it will get rid of the film.

My 12g Aquapod gets the film on the surface. My best sugestion is to aim the locline vents at the surface for more agitation. This will help with the film.

To get rid of the film block the lower 2 vents and that will cause a better surface skim. Most people use the plastic from a cd case and cut it to fit over the vents and the suction holds them on. I personally had some extra acrylic laying around and cut it and used aquarium sealant to hold it in place.
