I have some aiptasia in my 30 gal soft coral/mantis shrimp tank, so I was doing a search for ways to get rid of em. One of the threads I read mentioned uning white, undistilled viniger. What would viniger do to the water qulity? The poster asked the question but there was no answer... I was just curious

Thanks

Tiny amounts of vinegar will not impact ph that much.

More often than vinegar, people use slurries of lime (calcium hydroxide) or even lye solutions.

Vinegar will lower the pH, and if you use too much, could reduce oxygen. If you use 1 mL of distilled white vinegar per gallon of tank water, the pH will immediately drop by about 0.3 units. IT may drop further later as bacteria convert the vinegar into carbon dioxide.

You could try making a "paste" of kalkwasser, putting it into a syringe, and injecting it into the aiptasia. This usually does the trick. Don not just squirt it on their mouth, as they won't ingest it. You will have to inject them.
