I thought it would be cool to hear peoples progression of tanks. What did you start with, how big, fresh or salt, how long ago? Everything in between and what you have now.

1: 3 gal office tank, middle of march this year, fw with just a betta lol

2: Bought an Eclipse 12 gal for my betta few months later so I could add other fish with him

3: Got a used 12 gal Eclipse off ebay and put this one at home, and switched the betta and company into this one and turned my tank at work into a saltwater tank (which I almost decided to do cichlids in, but made an unregrettable, expensive decision to go sw) - shortly after my betta and company died and I changed the one at home into a cichlid tank.

4: After about a week with the cichlids, I had to go for a 24 nano cube for my house, and sold my whole 12 gal with fish and all. lol

5: Since the beginning of September I have been working on setting up a 75 to upgrade to for my office. I hope to have that up by mid October! Got my equip, just have to finish the stand and canopy.

I love this hobby and look forward to many more years learning about it and working to create my own beautiful little piece of the ocean!

35g FW
replaced with 45g FW when it cracked
upgraded to 65g FW planted with high light
added 14g & 10g FW planted
converted 14g to nano reef
converted 65g to FOWLR
upgraded 14g to 30g nano reef
added 5.5g pico reef
added 21g FOWLR
tore down 10g FW planted, moved contents to 30g
converted 30g reef to FW planted, moved contents to 65g
converted 65g to reef with more lighting
tore down 5.5g pico reef

Currently have 65g reef, 21g reef & 30g FW planted. Planning to give the 65g to my parents (who have shown a sudden interest in having a reef tank) and set up a 90g reef with 30g sump. Thinking about going with all zoas this time :D

18g high fresh for 4 years (mix)
38g fresh for 2 years (cichlids and mixed)
38g Salt FOWLR 4 years, 18g high seahorse tank
38g Salt Reef 6 years
90g Reef... working on it. Replacing the 38g

Each one the list came after the one before, so that's about 16 years than I've had a tank set up in one way or another.

55FW - moved for a few month left with a friend. 18fish + 5 babies = dead.

150REEF - Moving back and someone asked me to move a tank with the uhaul. It was easier to load it and pay him to not take it off the truck.

6 Years since Ive started..

1) 10 gallon nano softie reef
2) 60 gallon mixed reef w/ anemone
3) 15H nano is started (mixed reef) upgraded from the 10
-- 60 gallon becomes overstocked and tank gets split btn a new 60 gallon and a 33L
4) 33L temporary softie reef is born
5) 60 gallon FOWLR tank is born
-- both new tanks run without a skimmer, fuge or sump
--33L crashes this summer while Im on vacation. Anemone is moved to 15H mixed reef, where it is currently recovereding.
6) 33L is to be re-vamped soon.
7) future will see a much larger FOWLR setup..btn 150-300 gal
