Calcium Reactor - Effluent Rate

I am "tuning" my calcium reactor and was wondering what the proper effluent rate should be. I realize this is subjective as it will differ with each system.

Basically, what I am asking is, should there be steady flow or a drip?

Steady drip at first. A fast drip, but a drip. Like you stated, every setup will be different. If you are just setting it up, keep the CO2 off and have the effluent wide open for a few days. This drives out all of the air in the reactor and the air that is caught in the media.
