View Full Version : What brand name skimmer in sump or external is the Best??

Hi Folks!!
Just a quick question to ask if any can really tell me what skimmer they would recommend if money was not an issue for a 1000 litre tank to house soft and hard corals and mixed fish. I know there will be mixed opinions but thats life.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Euro Reef, Deltec, or H&S would be my choice for a skimmer. I have a EuroReef and love it... the needlewheels just seem to skim better IMHO. I have had an MRC Beckett and it was a pain to keep clean. The needles are just set and forget except for cleaning the cup. my 2 cents.

You are going to get a lot of responses to this one. It's a matter of taste, bioload, and budget in my opinion. I have a Euro-reef and a AquaC. I love both of them. Euro is kind of big, but very efficent. AquaC works well also and doesn't come with quite as big a price tag and have a smaller footprint...Just my 2 cents.

I prefer either E.T.S.S., Aqua C or Euro-Reef for skimmers.
