will a 1 inch orangefin clownfish survive and do well in a 20 gallon reef tank or will it die to easily?

Do you mean an oscellaris (false) perc?
If so most are pretty hardy and would be OK.

OK, sorry, thought maybe you were total newbie.
No exp. with that one personally, but their add rec is 30g min.

I highly doubt the clown will come in at 1". A. chrysopterus are usually sold at 2-3".
They grow to good 6" and are very active clowns. 20G tank will be too small for her.
