sitting here listening to my sump return suck air, and wondering what the heck, it was fine 3 hours ago.

so I go down, and hmmm sump sure is low.

hey, why am I wet?

oh lovely, the stand has 2" of water in it.

but I have no idea where the water is coming from...

glad I siliconed all the seams of the stand so it holds 2 gallons of water. otherwise man would I be screwed.

What a drag, sorry to hear. If not the plumbing, perhaps a seam leak under the tank trim? Hope you get it figured out.

I had the same experience. Is the underside of the top of the stand wet, if not then you know that the display tank is not leaking. Pull out the sump, fill it with freshwater and drop some food coloring into it. Come back to it in a few hours and the location of the leak shoud be obvious.

You can then reseal the tank by removing the old silicone and reapplying.

Check the corners and sides of all the tanks, check your plumbing for breaks, leaks, cracks, seperations, etc. Check the trim on all tanks.
